Answerama is an audience-engagement platform for live polling, workshops, Q&A, and research sessions. The data controller is [Legal Entity Name], [Registered Address]. Where we process data on behalf of a customer who runs a session, that customer is the controller and we act as their processor.

2. Information we collect

• Account data — name, email address, password hash, organisation, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with a third-party provider.

• Content you create — sessions, questions, uploaded images, branding, and notes.

3. Session participants

You can join most sessions without creating an account. We store the answers you submit, any display name you enter, and a device identifier used to prevent duplicate voting. Approximate location derived from your IP address may be recorded so hosts can see aggregate session activity.

Please do not enter sensitive personal information into open-text answers. Hosts can see and export responses, and responses may be shown on a shared screen. Some sessions are configured as always-on or public signage, which means the session may accept responses over an extended period and the display may be visible to anyone nearby.

The organisation hosting the session decides what to ask and how long to keep responses. For requests about data collected in a specific session, contact that host; we will assist them as their processor.

4. How we use information

• Provide, operate, and support the service, including running live and asynchronous sessions.
• Authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
• Process subscriptions and payments.
• Prevent abuse, spam, automated voting, and fraud, and enforce plan limits.
• Diagnose faults and improve reliability and performance.
• Send service messages and, where permitted, product updates you can opt out of at any time.
• Meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use session response content to train third-party AI models.

5. Legal bases

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies we rely on: contract to deliver the service you requested; legitimate interests to secure, support, and improve the product; consent for optional analytics and marketing; and legal obligation for tax and compliance records.

6. Sharing and processors

We share information only with service providers that help us run Answerama, each bound by contract to protect it:
